Its intrinsically safe blower unit is certified for use in ATEX Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22, depending on the complete system configuration and applicable headpiece/accessories. The system continuously draws ambient air through a suitable filter and delivers filtered air to the user's headpiece, creating positive pressure that helps reduce the ingress of contaminated ambient air. Depending on the selected filter, it can provide protection against particles, gases and vapours. The X-plore 8700 incorporates automatic safety functions including self-testing, filter detection, hose detection and automatic airflow adjustment, along with audible, visual and vibration alarms. It is compatible with a broad selection of Dräger headpieces, including helmets, hoods, visors and full-face masks.
